Purple. Why not? =).

This is an older piece that's just been laying around half done for quite some time. I decided to do some touch ups to it and post it because I think it's a nice piece.
Don't be to cruel about the crit, i'm a little rusty after some while away now hehe :D

I can't say so much more about this work , it's been some time since I worked on it last. One thing I do know is that I tried on a new brushing tech on it. Now afterwards im not quite sure if it went so good as I had planned hehe. This is also a combined manipulation with brushing. Some of the brushed parts in this were quite small so when I did this 1600x1200 piece i had to enlarge a few layers wich automaticly leads to lower quality/blurrness =P.

I'm satesfied with the end result. Oh yea, this is ! NO ! attempt of some explosion or whatever. It is what it is, light.

"I don't agree on that it should be less stars in the lighter areas tho" After looking at it more You are right, there arnt many in there to begin with and if a star is in there it is super bright, so it all works out. I dont mind the amount of stars either. Looks good. I have a question though, did you use a fractel as a base for the explosion? You did a great job of manipulating it in if you did. Nice Once again great work :nod:

Awesome work, man... The choice of purple was a bold move, but it really works for this piece. Great job. :)

I woul'd like to say i manipulated one tho but guilty as charged I made a fractal to start from. In my opinion it's way easier to start those kinda wavey/exploding/spikey or whatever things with a fractal. So YES it's a fractal underneath as a base, it also show a little i think.

I see u came to your senses regarding the stars :D.

I totally get what you mean. I first tried that shit out but I didn't manage to make it look so good. As written in the desctiption this is a piece I resumed to work at and at the point where I started the "nebula" was more or less created. All i did was make some touch-ups on it and finish it off with it's surroundings :D.

What I meant to say was that the color scheme really matches the atmosphere of the picture... I don't know why, but I think that purple is really the best color for this picture, of course it would have been great even if it was, for example, blue, but not as great as it is with a purple color scheme...


I'm sorry if I didn't explain myself correctly, but English is not my mother tongue...


Anyway, this wallpaper is fantastic! :D

lol, yea, im trying to get my moms camera ( awsome camera, very good quality where-as mine sucks ) to take more photography. i really want to learn photo manip but i dont know anything about photo-shop or paint shop lol.... ill get it eventually tho :D
