Description

Every day, thousands of people walk these stairs, up & down. I wonder how many of them thinking of how they actually look. Or even better, how they can appear in different sort of light.
Are we stressed enough in our daily life to never think these thoughts when we're out?

I might be a bad example but when I see a nice set of stairs I just freeze and stand for a while to soak it all in, angles, colors, structure, texture, light etc etc.
But hey, that's me!

Why has this photo captured my eyes? First: the composition, a nearly perfect symmetry, second: the colors, desaturated and colored with just a touch of greenish blue, which makes looking this picture aseptic and cold. Third: the lightning, coming from outside and shining just a bit into the "underworld", creating hard shadows. While there are six people on this photo, all of them look lonely.

While someone might say, that the exit is overexposed, I say that's a stylistic device, which is responsible for the astonishing effect that this photo sucks you into itself.

You made a really great job with this photo and its post-processing. Love it!
