Sweden 2011

Journal Entry: Thu Nov 26, 2009, 5:23 AM

I'm back in Sweden now after 2 weeks of time spent over in London. It's been a great time and I've done some amazing works over at Tate Gallery. More on that monday when I'll rip things of with a B I G update on a couple of things as well as fresh and well deserved features.

Did I get some photography done?
- Yes
How many roughly you'd say you have?
- Enough to last me until 2011.

When the police tells you to quit something, you should do as they say - Have a good one, Rob!

UK, a cliche?

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 22, 2009, 3:01 PM

I've finished my work here at Tate in London, been a busy and very interesting time smacked with a lot of great experience.
I've worked with some interesting things having to do with preservational photography and historical objects which's been very cool.
Tate Britain & Tate Modern is the 2 places I've been around at

Thought I'd give a little update on what's going on.
So I've been here since 12th and we've had rain every day so far, which I think is a bit laughable due to the cliche britain has over the weather. It's not been all bad, you do get loads of good photography when its more rainy weather as well.

I'm here for a couple more days before going to Gothenburg for a while so I'll be trying to squeeze out as much as I can of the time that's left really. Going to a bunch of museums and get into places for some great photo hopefully.

I've fallen in love with London completely tho, such a great place to be working/living in. Wouldn't mind going over here for some work soon and check it out a bit more. Also the photography around UK alone is just amazing really, great place.
Will be coming back here in May for some more things planned. Who knows, I might end up here further on doing some freelance things.

Great city!

So far I've managed to take roughly 750 something shots so I'll have a FUN time at the comp going through 'em

I'll come back in the start of next week when I've come home and I'll get back with my postings. Chers for now fellas.

When you do change your lens outdoors, try NOT to get water on the sensor... - Have a good one, Rob!

With grunge, light, solid shapes and a eye for older architecture with soft compositions Mavor have a wide spectra of art in his gallery. At first I glanced through his gallery not seeing so much I liked but when I slowed down a bit I noticed all kinds of awesome things all around. I think a lot of people rush through things here on DA, don't, since if you are then you as me can miss out on good artist like Mavor. A solid artist with a bright future if he hangs in there!

Warning London! + w46(47,48) feats

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 9, 2009, 11:43 AM

Thursday evening I'm landing out in Stansted. I'll be in London for 2 weeks.
I'll be over at Tate Gallery London for a while working and when I'm not, I'll for sure will explore the citylife through my viewfinder.
If you got some nice suggestions on places to visit while I'm there I'm happy to hear it. Please don't bother mention all the usual tourist places, I'm not interested in those. I wanna explore the heart of london, the old culture and history and not the postcard locations, those I can find on my own.

Sadly, and GREAT timing, my laptop crashed down hard the other day here, the piece of shit doesn't work at all now. UPS coming over tomorrow morning to pick it up and It'll be repaired 'n fixed by the time I get back from UK.
I'll manage but it sure would've been nice to bring the computer due to many reasons, photography being one of them...

The positive side is that it's hopefully fixed and shipped home by the time I get back.

Features will stay week 46,47 & 48 most likely together with the journal.

Any UK people wanna get together? Just let me know.

I'll try manage some subs meanwhile being over, otherwise things will come when I get back home.

Cya later peeps!

If your lens is dirty, DON'T spit on the lens and wipe it with your shirt! - Have a good one, Rob!

42 midges just isn't strong enough! + w43 feats

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 19, 2009, 3:46 PM

Yup, I missed week 42. It flew by so fast I didn't even see it. Now I saw week 43 coming so I'm doing the journal & features!

I'm rolling on here at 200mph. School is going great and we're working a lot with studio photography now and will soon begin with dramaturgy as well as analog design. Looking forward to it.

My calendar is getting filled for next year already, it's insane how fucked up I am to have that kind of "controlled life". Tho, it's good to have some solid points for structure 'n shit.

I don't know if you guys have seen this but it made my day. A random article from 2005 I got linked to me today.
I'm sorry if I offend people by saying that I laughed myself to the floor when I read it. I mean, COME AN. Man Vs Lion? Seriously, it's like catching a goddam airplane, it JUST DOESN'T WORK the same as in theory!

Here's the full story-

Lion Mutilates 42 Midgets in Cambodian Ring-Fight

Spectators cheered as entire Cambodian Midget Fighting League squared off against African Lion
Tickets had been sold-out three weeks before the much anticipated fight, which took place in the city of Kâmpóng Chhnãng.

The fight was slated when an angry fan contested Yang Sihamoni, President of the CMFL, claiming that one lion could defeat his entire league of 42 fighters.

Sihamoni takes great pride in the league he helped create, as was conveyed in his recent advertising campaign for the CMFL that stated his midgets will "... take on anything; man, beast, or machine."

This campaign is believed to be what sparked the undisclosed fan to challenge the entire league to fight a lion; a challenge that Sihamoni readily accepted.

An African Lion (Panthera Leo) was shipped to centrally located Kâmpóng Chhnãng especially for the event, which took place last Saturday, April 30, 2005 in the city’s coliseum.

The Cambodian Government allowed the fight to take place, under the condition that they receive a 50% commission on each ticket sold, and that no cameras would be allowed in the arena.

The fight was called in only 12 minutes, after which 28 fighters were declared dead, while the other 14 suffered severe injuries including broken bones and lost limbs, rendering them unable to fight back.

Sihamoni was quoted before the fight stating that he felt since his fighters out-numbered the lion 42 to 1, that they “… could out-wit and out-muscle [it].”

Unfortunately, he was wrong.

:bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletblue: :bulletblue:

I don't know if this is true or not but when I read the -"...The fight was called in only 12 minutes, after which 28 fighters were declared dead- part I damn near almost peed my pants of laughter. Again, I hope no offence it taken here. It's just so absurd the whole thing that I can't do more than laught at it.

Use a tripod, it's not worth it otherwise! - Have a good one, Rob!
